Terms of Service

Welcome to FileMyFills ("we," "us," "our," or the "Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of filemyfills.com and any related services. By using FileMyFills, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What FileMyFills Does

FileMyFills connects to your Kalshi account using an API key you provide, retrieves your trade and settlement history, and calculates gain/loss figures intended to help you prepare your own tax filings. We generate downloadable reports in several formats (CSV, Excel, PDF, and others) reflecting these calculations.

FileMyFills is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Kalshi, Inc. "Kalshi" is used solely to describe compatibility with their platform.

2. Not Tax, Legal, or Financial Advice

FileMyFills provides informational calculations only. We are not a tax preparer, accountant, CPA, attorney, or financial advisor, and nothing we provide constitutes tax, legal, or financial advice.

The tax classification of event contract trading (including whether it should be treated as capital gains, ordinary income, or under other tax frameworks) has not been definitively settled by the IRS as of this writing. Reports generated by FileMyFills reflect one selected treatment methodology and should not be treated as a determination of the correct tax treatment for your situation.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your tax filings. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional before filing based on any report generated by this Service.

3. Your Kalshi API Key

When you use the Service, you provide a Kalshi API Key ID and private key to retrieve your trading data. We ask that you generate a read-only scoped key (see our connection instructions for details). Your private key is:

  • Transmitted over HTTPS
  • Used in memory to sign a single, read-only request to Kalshi's API
  • Immediately discarded after your report is calculated
  • Never stored in our database, logs, or any persistent storage

You are responsible for generating your API key with appropriate (read-only) permissions and for the security of your own Kalshi account credentials. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from a key you provide with broader permissions than recommended.

4. Accuracy of Data

FileMyFills calculates results based solely on the data returned by Kalshi's API at the time of your request. We do not independently verify this data. If Kalshi's records are incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, your report will reflect that. It is your responsibility to review your results for reasonableness before relying on them.

5. Payment and Refunds

Reports are provided on a one-time-purchase basis, processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

All sales are final. Because reports are generated instantly and are inherently based on the specific data available on your account at the time of purchase, we do not offer refunds except where required by law or at our sole discretion in cases of a demonstrable technical failure to deliver a working report.

6. Free Preview

We offer a single free preview of your top-line calculation result per connected Kalshi account. This limitation is enforced automatically and may not be circumvented.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process API keys or data belonging to accounts you are not authorized to access
  • Attempt to circumvent the free-preview limitation, payment requirements, or any technical security measure
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or Kalshi's own terms of service
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's operation

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that reports will be accepted by any specific tax preparation software or by the IRS.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileMyFills and its owner(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to tax penalties, interest, audit costs, or lost profits, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FileMyFills from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights (including Kalshi's terms of service).

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
